A Fabulously Flawed Life

I had decided not to post my trip to Canton on Saturday because I didn't want to be "showy". However, Jen talked me into it. I got a lot this trip because I knew I won't be back until the Spring. I'm posting this because I'm really into home decor right now and hopefully you'll get some ideas and inspirations . I'm constantly being inspired by you. Here's my fall decor in my living room. I've gotten all of it from Canton over the past 2 years, except the fall flowers and candles. I saw this mirror and had to have it! It was only $28. I wasn't sure where I was going to put it but is spoke to me. ;) Fun little BOO iron I didn't get these jeweled pumkins in Canton. The boys and I made them together a couple years ago. Audience be advised. ***** This is purely a venting post on my part so don't take personal offense to what I have to say. I just need to express myself and let it out! We got a call yesterday from Jason's mom telling us that Jason's ex-brother-in-law ( xBIL ) was killed in a car accident. Apparently xBIL was driving drunk, hit a car, which spun him into a telephone poll. He was killed instantly. Luckily no one else was hurt or killed. xBIL leaves behind 2 children , 6 and 12 years old. He's been a dead beat dad and an all around looser. I am so angry that he would be so damn selfish as to drive drunk and put so many innocent lives in danger! Can you imagine what this selfish son of a bitch has done to his children!! Anyway, Jason's sister wants him to attend the funeral and be there for her. So this weekend Jason will be driving 12 hours...

The part- ay and the crafting has continued! We celebrated Julie's birthday on Tuesday here at my house. Now we're going to have to make up reason's to see each other. ;) Isn't this such a simple but bold wrapping idea? Love it! I made this Julie Rocks! game and played it at the party. I've known Julie for 2 years now but I learned more about her making this game than I had the past 2 years. Here's the inside with the instructions and the game pieces. How did I come up with this completely fab party idea you ask? I've been crazy busy throwing my last birthday party and finishing up my Witch Switch craft. It's late and I'm so exhausted I'm going to try to take a nap tomorrow. This post is way overdue! I want to thank Mique for sending me the backpack tags that I won in her giveaway. My boys LOVED them and it made them feel so special. Also thank you for ... this awesome BOO banner that she made me for my birthday. I love it!! It fits perfectly on my mantle. Thank You!! My boys really like it too. I also received a " Pay it Forward' gift from Wendi . I've just got to say that Wendi and I could definitely hang in 'real life'. I've been rockin ' out to the CD she made me for days! Last night I was able to enjoy some girl time and went to Mavens. I'm still on a high from all the birthday affirmations and was able to let loose and enjoy myself. ;) You ladies ROCK! I really enjoy your company and laughs. I woke up this morning to 5 cars parked in front of my house and realized that it's our bi-annual community garage sale weekend. Luckily Jason's off today, so we put Drake in the car and drove around to meet our neighbors and find some treasures. I got this desk for Davis for $15! I'm going to repaint it black. I also met a neighbor who had a home decor business and I got all this stuff for only $32. I haven't been to a garage sale in about 9 years but boy am I hooked!! I'm going to repaint both mirrors pink and the little table back to go in my guest room. I also got invited to a neighborhood girls night out. I've decided I'm going go out of my comfort zone and go. I'm usually so involved with people at my church that I haven...

Did anyone watch Oprah's show on Autism with Jenny' McCarthy and Holly Robinson-Pete? I've been wanting Oprah to talk about this subject for quite a while and assumed she had but I missed the show. I've written in about it a couple times. I was really impressed by the show and the "mom-power" attitude it had. I was relieved to know that I've done everything with Davis that had been suggested. (Whew!) I felt like she explained how it feels to be a mother with a special needs child very well and the strain it has on yourself and on your marriage. "You Go Ladies!" And thanks for opening up peoples minds and hearts on this rapidly increasing issue. My hope is that people as a whole will look at these little guys with compasion and understanding (unlike my school district), and love them for their special talents and for the special little people they are.

It was a very long summer and my house has paid the price! Now that everyone is healthy and the birthdays are over, I can get my house back in order! How did your house weather the summer? Mine wasn't so fortunate. The drawer got pulled completely off in our media room, Food smeared over various walls throughout the house, Paint on the walls from the boys crafts, Paint is chipping off the doors as well as toy marks all over the doors, Davis' door on his locker got pulled off! Also, my car had food and soda splatter everywhere, and my carpets had spots everywhere too. Seriously, yuck!! So it's time for some fall cleaning. I couldn't be luckier because I opened the door yesterday and Lisa was standing there!! She surprised me with a visit and a birthday cake. She Rocks! So what do I do to reward my giving sister? I've just got to brag a bit and give my sister her proper props!! I got a huge package in the mail last Friday. After my honey confirmed it wasn't from him, I opened it and was in complete shock and awe!! Not only did Lisa research and find exactly what I wanted for my birthday (these two wall iron pieces), she rounded up cash from my family to pay for it. She's seriously THE BEST!! Thank You! Thank you to everyone who chipped in and especially thank you to Lisa who did all the work to make the day such a special one.
