Finally, Liesl gave in to peer pressure and made her blog public for us all to enjoy! She's a hairdresser in Orem , Utah and such a fun girl. Lisa and I met her when we made an impromptu appointment to get Lisa's hair done. We all hit if off immediately. I'm hoping that she'll put lots of pictures of her clients new hair cuts on her blog so I can keep my locks up on the latest trends. {{giggle}} I love to talk hair!! The next 8 days are filled with several birthday celebrations for friends. It seems like feast or famine regarding birthdays around here. Party #1 I had the opportunity to party with my 2 different groups of amazing ladies on the same night! Lucky me!!! Seriously, it couldn't have come on a better week. First up, at 6:30, I celebrated Jennifer's birthday. She's a fellow blogger but it's private. {{bummer}} She's an amazingly talented and driven woman, whom I feel so blessed to know. Her boys are my boys ages and they are such wonderful examples and fun play mates to have around. Jennifer's little girl Ella is a complete delight and brightens up my home when she's here. Secretly I want to kidnap her - OK maybe it's not really a secret. She's just so verbal and giggly I can't help but love the time I have with her. "The Truth" by Good Charlotte, music only I guess it is only appropriate that this is my 250th post. It's a milestone for me personally and a defining moment for my middle son, Dylan. I finally got a call from Dylan's psychologist yesterday and Dylan has been officially diagnosed with ADHD. I haven't received all the results yet, just verbal confirmation on how to proceed. "Dylan scored way above average on perceptual reasoning and average on verbal comprehension. He has an average working memory but a low processing speed. He's a visual learner and will need visuals to help reinforce learning." I've started the process of having Dylan's medical records transferred to Davis' pediatrician and talked to the nurse to schedule the appointment to have him evaluated for medication. This is a very emotional time for me, especially since I’ve been noticing some issues with my youngest son as well. I’ve been grieving inwardly and trying to come t...

Drake is now officially eating food. Yeah! However, this long awaited struggle has come with a down side. Needless to say cheetos are now banned from the house. And this handprint is in my bedroom! As you can imagine my walls are a mess and my floor is worse. I had forgotten how messy toddlers are. So today I spot cleaned my carpets and touched up the paint in the house. Again! When I was getting ready this morning, Drake picked up his brush and the hairspray and tried to do his own hair. Too funny! He cleans up pretty well don't you think. ;) (He LOVES to get this hair done.) One of the perks of high functioning autism (for Davis, not me) is that he has the most amazing memory. Over the weekend our family was a mix of American Idol, Guitar Hero, and America's Funniest Home Videos! Notice Drake really getting into it. He was actually "singing". ha ha Guitar Hero has brought a new dimension to our family togetherness. Not only are there now fights for the guitars, but Davis is singing rock songs instead of Justin Timberlake. {{bummer}} Even Toby (aka "Bobby" to Drake) got some love.

Dear Davis & Dylan, I know that we have had a tough week. But I want you to know that I am not your friend, I am your Mommy. I am determined to do my best as a Mommy and raise you to be wonderful husbands and fathers. No matter what it takes. I overheard you guys complaining about me the other night and I want you to know that it didn't hurt my feelings. I've complained about you to your daddy a lot this week too! I'm sorry that I have to teach you to responsibility. My man doesn't get enough love on my blog, poor guy! He planned a double date for us with some friends for Valentine's Day. Jason arranged for us to eat at Del Frisco's steak house. Yummy!! Another fabulous swap completed. I'm pretty sure I could get addicted to this. I received the loveliest package from Christie ! She said that when she saw this Rome box, she immediately thought of me. (That's where I'm dying to travel.) In the meantime, she suggested that I tuck in pictures and wish lists inside. What a beautiful reminder and great tip to help me achieve and look forward to my goal! She gave me a wallet-sized photo album to showcase some of my best vacation spots. (Notice it's pink!) I like to have pictures of my kids when I travel so I've already inserted a couple of those. Christie put a lot of thought into this! In my 'must have travel' purse she included Pond's make-up removing towelettes, chapstick, hand sanitizer, lotion, candy, and gum. All things I forget to pack in my rush to get out of dodge. I'm featuring my OTT bathroom make over for Tip Junkie's Talk to me Tuesda y!! My sister, Lisa , came into town over the weekend. So you know what that means - Project Time!! This time we did a huge make over on my downstairs power bath room. It's been completely ignored and needed some TLC. Here's the before picture. Before (brown iron) After!! I've been designing this project in my head for months. I had originally planned on doing this in my upstairs guest bathroom but the ceiling isn't as tall and it's a funky shape - so the concept wouldn't work. After much deliberation, I decided to just Go For It! Lisa took video of the bathroom so you could see it. Thanks Sis! First, we taped the baseboards and measured out the stripes. I was completely inspired by the trash can (pictured below). I kept the base paint color the same (Monarch Summer Suede) and painted the stripes using BEHR's Pearlescent Gold Veil.
