A Fabulously Flawed Life

Imagine my shock and surprise when I was asked to be a contributor to the Creative Bliss channel for Blissfully Domestic online magazine. I would consider my creative writing to be below standard and my grammar and spelling to be atrocious ! Shhh ... It looks like we'll have to keep that our little secret. {{wink}} Now that life is normal and I'm healthy again, I have been able to resume my contributor status over at Creative Bliss . Oh yes he did! My dad got married this month to Peggy. The third time's the charm with sweet Peggy. He's not only in love with her, but her boys, and her power tools. Sounds like a good match to me. Come on, you know I couldn't let this event pass without poking fun at him a bit! {{ bwaaah }} Best wishes and happiness to them both.

I'm headed out to Boise, Idaho tomorrow for my Great Grandma White's funeral. She died at 98 years old and finally got her wish to be united with her loved ones who passed long ago. I'm going to support my Grandma who turned 75 years old last week. I just adore her! It's a quick trip but I'm so grateful to be able to go and support my Grandma during this time.

I know this post is going to seem like I have WAY too much time on my hands. But life is kinda stress full right now. {{pulling hair out}} How do I deal with it? Like I always have, through music. I've been on my computer all afternoon. I'm all caught up on Tivo and without movies in my mailbox. Whew! We made through Easter weekend. I don't know about you but ours was crazy packed with lots of Easter Egg Hunts, parties, and family traditions. Egg A House We Egged Houses with the boys. This year I let them choose who to egg. They had such a great time but were bummed that I didn't have more eggs. Note to self - more eggs next year! Decorate Eggs After Dylan's soccer game, the boys were ready to decorate eggs. I bought an egg spinner this year and it has a big hit! Party Hardy with Friends Some friends hosted the most "egg"credible hunt on Saturday. They live next to a green belt and the kiddos had a blast trying to find eggs. The little guys searched for eggs inside the back yard while the older kiddos went into the green belt. By this time Drake is now a seasoned pro at finding eggs. After being cooped up in my home for 3 months straight, a girls weekend was a must! My sister, Melissa, and I planned what we wanted to do and I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to it. Well. Keeping in mind that I have the worst luck on the planet; Melissa's husbands grandfather died. Therefore, Melissa wasn't able to come and party with us. {{massive bummer}} Take this as a warning to any of you who plan an event with me in the future. You never know what my bad juju will bring into your life! Consider yourself warned. {{wink}} Even though Melissa couldn't make it, we decided to go ahead with our plans anyway. "The show must go on!" Since, I'm still not able to sit in a car for very long, so we decided to stay local and check out the city. Lisa and I saw some movies, went shopping, and ate at the new 560 restaurant owned by Wolfgang Puck. It's an Asian themed restaurant that slowly rotates around so you get a 360 view of the c...

I can't believe that I'm just now getting around to blogging about this. It must be a sign that life is just too busy. {{sigh}} Anyway, Chanda and I went to see the "Idols in Concert" at the Dallas Symphony. They were past Idol contestants: Melinda Doolittle, Gina Glocksen, Chikezie Eze, and Phil Stacey perform alongside the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. I love how Chanda is always up for an adventure. Hey, me too! {{snicker}} We had such a BLAST. This was our view. Yes, we had the cheap seats. They weren't nose bleeds they where behind and above the stage. It actually turned out be really cool because we were so close to the performers. They were each so kind to us and turned around to sing and wave several times throughout their performances. Melinda Doolittle First the Dallas Symphony played. Then all 4 of the Idols came out and rotated playing individually and as a group. Melinda was adorable. I'm terribly embarrassed. I am just now delivering my Thank You cookies for people who helped me and my family out during the back trauma of '09. Now that physical therapy is behind me and I'm caught up on to-do's; I can finally take the time to properly thank those amazing women who had my back when mine stabbed me in the back. {{literally}} It took me 3 batches before I perfected my friend Lisa's cookies. I know, it's seriously so sad. I can not cook for the life of me. I'll admit {{only to you}} that I burn the break-and-bake cookies. It's terrible. However, I'm now the proud baker of melt-in-your-mouth homemade cookies. Thanks to Lisa for her amazing recipe! The secret ingredient, real butter. I won't even admit how many packages of butter I had to read to find "real butter". {{Geeze, I hate to cook.}} At any rate, I wanted these women to know how much I appreciate their service and so it was worth all the effort in the ...

Davis has been in this cutie's class the past two years and since she lives a couple doors down, she's become such a great friend. I just love having her in my home. She's willing to do just about anything Davis comes up with. Sometimes his antics are quite funny. As I went outside to check on them, they reminded me of the movie "My Girl". I don't remember the actual plot of the movie but the dynamic between the two is pretty similar. Ahhh , to be a kid again.

There are many things I love about our area and there are a couple things I could do without. The large hail is one of them! However, the boys thought it was very cool. {{Cutie Ty is such a poser!!}} Yep, another Peek-a-boo! This time with underwear. {{at least it's clean}} Too bad he won't hear it on his bottom. {{sigh}}
