Davis' Arrow of Light

Image
Davis earned his Arrow of Light award quite a while ago. But he didn't have a ceremony due to the fact that he never had a Scout Master. Yep, that means that which Jason out of town, Davis and I did all the work together. It was exhausting but worth it. One of our good friends just got called to be the Scout Master and he made this special bridge just for Davis' ceremony. He wanted to do something special to make it up to Davis for waiting so long to give him his award. It was AMAZING! Davis really felt special and loved walking over the bridge. Always the cheeze, this is Davis pretending the gummy worm is a real one while eating the dessert.

Happy Birthday to My Man

Image
Jason has been traveling three out of four weeks every month. It's exhausting for every one. It's his big day and the boys and I have wrapped some fabulous gifts and have a night out all planned. It's a toss up who misses Daddy the most; me or Drake. When Jason first gets home Drake is at his side for quite a while so he can get his daddy fix. My man is all hooked up with some summer clothes as he's lost quite a bit of weight lately. He's lookin' goo-od! His mom got him an incredible watch which doubles as his birthday and graduation gift as he just received his MBA. Happy Birthday Jason! I love you more than the Universe!!!

Scrubbing Bubbles Spa Day

Image
I was invited to a Spa day at the Four Seasons hosted by Scrubbing Bubbles . The new Scrubbing Bubble Product helps moms fight the morning madness. It is called Extend-A-Clean and you once you use it, it continues to work over the next few days. Whoohoo - boys sink here I come. I can't wait to see if it will keep the dried up toothpaste from sticking. {{gross!}} photo stolen from Texan Mama * Amy – Living Locurto & IHeartFaces * Mariah - Humphries Nation * Lynley - Save The Phillips Family * Rebekah – DFW Mama * Candace – MamaMia * Angela * me * Gretchen – Who Put Me In Charge Of These People??? * Shauna – Blah Blah Blog * Rachel – Quirky Momma * Laurie – Tip Junkie * Bianca – Becoming Bianca * Cynthia – Oh So Cynthia * Kim – Savor The Days * not pictured Shannon – Milk and Cuddles & Lea Ann – Mommy’s Wish List * I had such a fun time and it was great to meet so many Dallas bloggers. Easter Party

Image
For Easter this year, we hosted a dinner and egg hunt Saturday afternoon with friends. I absolutely love having people in my home. It makes every holiday so much more enjoyable when I have people to share it with. We had the egg hunt at our neighborhood park across the street. It was the perfect spot for the littlies and the biggies to find eggs. I can't believe how fast they're growing up! Easter morning the Easter bunny left them some treats in their baskets. She did a great job not going over board this year. The boys made these clay bunnies the night before. Happy Easter everyone!

Dying Easter Eggs

Image
The boys love to dye Easter eggs. It's a family tradition that they get such a kick out of. Dylan was really getting into it and wanted me to take this picture of him pretending to drink the dye. {{giggle}} Next, we stuffed plastic eggs and then did our annual tradition of Egging a House . Every year I let the boys each choose one family they want to egg. Drake seriously got into it this year and it was such a fun time. Although it was so hot, I'm sure the chocolate was grodie once they opened them up. {{oops!}}

Girl Time in Canton

Image
One of my favorite place to shop is in Canton, Texas . With my back surgery, Jason traveling, my traveling schedule, etc; it has been over a 1 1/2 years since I've been able to go. I know, a massive travesty in my life. I've missed the girl time and fabulous shopping more than I realized. I found that amazing pink flower purse seconds after walking in. We were meant to be in each other's life. {{swooning}} We were celebrating Monica and Calli's birthday so it even more imporant for me to go. Monica bought Calli this "Happy Birthday" tiara. She looks like a princess standing next to her knight in shining armor. {{bwaaahaa!}} Guess how much Calli got this flower arrangement for? Come on... guess! $25 little ones. Can you believe it! It's a $200 arrangement that fell and isn't inside it's container anymore. Holy crap that's a steal. I was so excited for her. She's going to put it on her formal dining room table. {{love it}} Du...

Night Games with the Boys

Image
Davis is going to be 12 this November and I am a bit wigged out at the idea that he will be in Young Men's at church. He only has a couple of friends who completely "get him" and with whom he can be totally himself. So my dear friend and I have been hosting 11 year old late night parties at our homes once a month. The idea is to bond these guys with old fashion night games. The goal is to get them comfortable with each other, bond them, so that when peer pressure situations come up; they'll be there for each other. Davis is going to need a group of Young Men who are willing to go to bat for him. These nine boys are phenomenal. They were cracking me up with their conversation at dinner. They were playing the "what if" game and they were saying things like, "What if Mrs. McCain voted for President Obama". {{no joke!}} I think they knew more about the health care bill than I did a the time. It was hysterical. Sardines was their favorite game ...

Easter and Spring Decor

Image
Out of all the holidays, Easter is the one where my home decor sucks. Yep, I'll admit it. It's very juvenile and I just haven't spent the money or time to make anything that I love. {{Aside from the Happy Spring blocks that I made at church, of course.}} See what I mean? I've basically just kept their old Easter baskets and have used them for decor. Hopefully next year I'll really do some real decorating. I actually do really like my egg garland. I made it last year with the boys. We bought bags of $2 plastic eggs and strung them together with fishing wire. They turned out fun. I also like the bunnies I got at Bunco years ago when I lived in Katy. They remind me of dear friends miles away. Okay, so maybe I don't dislike all of my Easter decor, but I'm going to make some really fun items for next year. I can't wait!

Spring Break at Sea World

Image
This year for Spring Break we packed up the kiddos and went to San Antonio and Sea World Now that the boys are older it was a blast! We met up with several other families (who we just adore) and everyone had a friend to hang out with. Yep, even Mom & Dad which is key. We had fun taking a boat tour and eating on the river walk. Seeing all the shows and attractions. It was seriously SO cold, but being with good friends made it really fun. Davis & Dylan road the roller coasters while Drake and I hung out with Wendy & Emily at the penguins. Gotta have cotton candy! On our second day the boys needed a change of pace, so wen played in the sand at the playground. Davis takes his sand castles very seriously. We fed the sea lions. Watched the sting rays being fed. And got up extra early in the morning to fed the dolphins. The kids loved the little Shamu ride and since we had to get their early to feed the dolphins, there wasn't a line once the park opened up. I think they r...
