Target Coupon Stacking

Image
I tried the Target coupon stacking system from The Krazy Coupon Lady last week. I've lost my receipt but I saved a ton and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Basically, Target accepts manufacturers coupons as well as their own (which you can print out). Every week The Krazy Coupon Lady posts the links to the coupons as well as the deals you can get.

My Chevy & NASCAR Experience

I dragged Lisa out to the races over the weekend. It was supposed to be time with our men but they got caught up at school and missed it. Major bummer. Lisa and I had a blast and you can see all about it in my NASCAR Whrrl Story . Powered by Whrrl

The Things That Make Me Giggle

Image
I just love October. It's right after a month full of birthday fun and I'm still giddy and happy from all the celebrations and excuses to see dear people in my life and to show them how much I adore them. It's also the only month my boys will wear matching shirts! {{evil laugh}} I love easy and fun gift ideas. Amy gave me this fun Halloween gift for hosting the Dallas GNO party. I believe she's hooked you up with a free download for this label from her blog. She gave me extras to use for friends. Seriously, so thoughtful. Main Attic Before October is also when I clean out my attics. The weather is usually cooler which makes it bearable to get in a get my hands dirty. I'm an attic- aholic . I'm in my attics at least 2-3 times a month swapping out toys, decor, etc. I took everything out of the attic and organized it the way I like it, in a semi-circle. Which gives access to everything I need when I need it. The boys had a blast rummaging through all their old to...

Lisa Moves Into The Garage

Image
Boy, do I have a lot to catch you up on. The past three weeks have been crazy busy. Lisa sold her house in College Station but didn't close on her house here until a week later. So she moved all of her material possessions into my garage. The boys have had to wait a LONG time but they finally got to live with Aunt Lisa. The house is so happy and all a buzz. It turned out to be a perfect fit as all of her stuff fit into one of our garages. (No this picture isn't the final look.) Lisa's a master at Tetris as her things were packed perfectly into the tight spot. YAY! We finally have Lisa and Billy in our home. Reinforcements - Life is good.

Good Bye College Station

Image
It has finally happened, Lisa sold her house! Her last weekend in College Station was a big one as my youngest brother gave a talk and sang at church, and it was my middle brother's birthday. So we all gathered as a family to do some bonding "Mills-style". {{loud & rowdy}} Lisa had already packed her house, so all that was left was just some minor hole plugging and painting. After wrapping one of Lisa's friends house, we decided to reek havoc at our youngest brother, Scott's house. The dude didn't have one tree in him yard. {{lame}} So when he happened to be jogging by - we attacked him. Poor guy, was scared half to death! {{evil laugh}} I had so much fun at Lisa's church. During Sacrament meeting the toddler in front of us was playing with this laminated quiet book. Oh yes I did! I asked her if I could take pictures of it for my Executive Homemaker blog. She said yes. {{squeal in delight}} Lisa and I ended up going to Young Women's (be...

A Day in the Life

Image
Life is completely crazy busy these days. I'm at the point where I have no idea how the months are passing by so quickly. So I thought it would be fun to take one day and document my activities. I need something to prove that I'm actually being productive. {{wink}} This is what I did on Monday: 4:30 am - Woke up to giggles and screams of delight. I walked upstairs to find Drake in Dylan's bed! I guess Drake woke up and wanted Dylan to read him some books. Dylan was kindly obliging this order and even reading using different voices. 5:30 am - Woke up to give the boys their medication 8:15 am - Apparently I slept like a log while Jason took the boys to school. 8:20 am - Post for Tip Junkie 9:00 am - Pilates (no time for the treadmill today) 9:50 am - Took Drake to Emily's house for a play date and chatted with Wendy. 10:15 am - Shower and got ready for the day 11:00 am - Tried to tackle the mountain of e-mail. 12:20 pm - Lunch with Chanda , Rochelle , and L...

Girls Weekend

Image
My dear friend Melissa moved from Utah to Houston at the end of last year but due to my back surgery and scheduling conflicts, we finally got to see each other over the weekend. Lisa and Melissa drove up and we had the best time via pedi's, Mexican food, and retail therapy! Sam Moon finally opened up a week or so ago and it wouldn't be a girls weekend without trendy purses and cheap accessories. Next up, the Funky Monkey boutique where we all found several treasures. We went to see Angels and Demons . However, Lisa was cold. No she's not stealing that shirt but it totally looks like it! She bought it but put it on our way out. I really liked the movie, it doesn't follow the story line of the book. Just a heads up. {{I have no idea what that circle is on my shirt. No, I'm not br3ast feeding! Not a typo, I don't want my post to come up in Google searches.}} After the movie we headed back to the mall for more shopping. In Nordstrom I found these amazing pink flo...

Slacker

Image
Dude. Apparently I have been a massive slacker when it comes to my yard. I was outside talking to my neighbor when I noticed a weed that was taller than my 3 year old! Oops! I guess I've really taken for granted how easy maintenance my yard can be. Needless to say, I've got a little yard work to do.

Oops!... He Did It Again

Image
Oh yes he did! My dad got married this month to Peggy. The third time's the charm with sweet Peggy. He's not only in love with her, but her boys, and her power tools. Sounds like a good match to me. Come on, you know I couldn't let this event pass without poking fun at him a bit! {{ bwaaah }} Best wishes and happiness to them both.

Grandma White's Funeral

Image
I'm headed out to Boise, Idaho tomorrow for my Great Grandma White's funeral. She died at 98 years old and finally got her wish to be united with her loved ones who passed long ago. I'm going to support my Grandma who turned 75 years old last week. I just adore her! It's a quick trip but I'm so grateful to be able to go and support my Grandma during this time.

Girls In The City

Image
After being cooped up in my home for 3 months straight, a girls weekend was a must! My sister, Melissa, and I planned what we wanted to do and I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to it. Well. Keeping in mind that I have the worst luck on the planet; Melissa's husbands grandfather died. Therefore, Melissa wasn't able to come and party with us. {{massive bummer}} Take this as a warning to any of you who plan an event with me in the future. You never know what my bad juju will bring into your life! Consider yourself warned. {{wink}} Even though Melissa couldn't make it, we decided to go ahead with our plans anyway. "The show must go on!" Since, I'm still not able to sit in a car for very long, so we decided to stay local and check out the city. Lisa and I saw some movies, went shopping, and ate at the new 560 restaurant owned by Wolfgang Puck. It's an Asian themed restaurant that slowly rotates around so you get a 360 view of the c...

Thank You's

Image
I'm terribly embarrassed. I am just now delivering my Thank You cookies for people who helped me and my family out during the back trauma of '09. Now that physical therapy is behind me and I'm caught up on to-do's; I can finally take the time to properly thank those amazing women who had my back when mine stabbed me in the back. {{literally}} It took me 3 batches before I perfected my friend Lisa's cookies. I know, it's seriously so sad. I can not cook for the life of me. I'll admit {{only to you}} that I burn the break-and-bake cookies. It's terrible. However, I'm now the proud baker of melt-in-your-mouth homemade cookies. Thanks to Lisa for her amazing recipe! The secret ingredient, real butter. I won't even admit how many packages of butter I had to read to find "real butter". {{Geeze, I hate to cook.}} At any rate, I wanted these women to know how much I appreciate their service and so it was worth all the effort in the ...

News Worthy

Image
I've had a pretty exciting week as far as blogland goes. I finally got through all my e-mails (again) and I had some treats awaiting inside. Usually my e-mail is a lot like snail mail but instead of bills it's "please do this for me", or "I want", or a ton of "to dos ". However this week was completely different. First, I was asked to participate in a survey about blogging for Maren's thesis. It was really cool and I can't wait to see the results of all the women who participated. Next, I was "spotted" as one of 1-800-FLOWERS.COM'S DIY Moms. I'll be featured on Julie Mulligan's blog , the lifestyle expert for 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, the week of April 6 th . I'll receive a free bouquet of flowers as well as a promo code for my readers to receive 15% off of flowers from 1-800-FLOWERS.COM . Lastly, I was asked if I would be willing to be interviewed by Mary Kaye, a Media Specialist for LDS Stake Public Affairs for Ca...

Giving Up Chocolate

Image
So my Visiting Teachers gave me a bag of dark chocolate with this story. I thought it was pretty great. Apparently, so did Drake. Giving Up Chocolate "I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy chocolate with it instead of dinner?' 'No, I had to stop eating chocolate years ago', the homeless woman told me. 'Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?' I asked. 'No, I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.' 'Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?' I asked 'Are you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years' Well, I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money. Instead I'm going to ...

Emotional Eater

Image
It seems like everyone around me is trying to eat better. There's the no sugar diet, Weight Watchers, or a point system of one kind or another. Dude. Don't get me wrong I am so proud of my friends and the commitment that they've made. It's just makes me pay more attention to what I put in my body. Talk about a drag. ;) I'm not one to give up things I love all together ' cuz I am an emotional eater and icing brings me great joy. However, I have found a couple things the past month that are good substitutions. Such as: I've replaced Diet Cokes with 1 small can and water with a splash of cranberry juice. I've replaced honey buns with one 100 Calorie Carrot cake snacks. They're REALLY yummy. I've started eating breakfast. Usually I'll have grapefruit with a handful of blue berries, almonds and a banana. Easy. If I have a craving I'll grab a cheese stick or cut up some cucumbers and sprinkle with Italian dressing. I'll also grab another h...

Slumber Party

Image
Lisa came into town for Drake's birthday party and we had so much fun together! Because it was my dear friend Wendy's anniversary I offered to watch her kiddos for the weekend. It worked out perfectly being Drakes birthday. So we partied hard and had a great time. The next morning, I decided to do something new to Emily's hair. I mean, it's the only time I get to pretend I actually have a daughter. :( I showed her the hair blog and asked her to pick one. She picked out the Basket Weave hair style. I was seriously SO excited about it! Finally, I would get to put my skills to use and create a darling never-before-seen hairstyle on cutie patootie Emily. Dude. This one's a doozy ! As I was making all the little pony tails all I could think about was my poor friend having to take them out. I thought I was going to be in serious trouble. Although how on earth could you be mad after seeing something so beautiful! (And of course she wasn't. She LOVED it!) 6 suckers, wh...
