A Fabulously Flawed Life

I realize I'm being a bit over dramatic - but I'm so sick and tired of spammers! I manage 3 blogs and I can not tell you how annoying it is to have to constantly be logging into my accounts to delete some random comment with inappropriate links. Dude. I'm done. Therefore, I will now be moderating all my comments. Granted I don't get many these days anyway. I've been a terrible blog commenter myself and have not been abiding by the golden rule of blogging: "Comment unto others as they have commented unto you." I hope you understand and it's not too annoying to wait until I approve your comment. I know I love it when I see my comment automatically appear. {{so much fun}} Sorry Ladies. The kiddos had a couple days off of school and we spent both days with friends. We also did one of the boys favorite activities - bowling. They are each pretty competitive and take the game very seriously. This was Drake's expression after every bowl. It was so funny! Every one had a great time and were very considerate of each others feelings. Even with the serious competitive drive each child has. I really enjoy how much my boys love each other. With all their trials - getting along isn't one of them. {{knock on some serious wood}} Drake and Dylan were cracking me up with their enthusiasm and how proud of each other they were after a strike. You can't have a family outing with out some crazy pictures. {{wink}} I was able to catch this impromptu moment on film. Emily had just bowled a strike and jumped into Wendy's arms to celebrate. It was darling. Good times.

I just love award season! I know, I know - it's a little silly for actors to dominate more attention and then give themselves awards - but I just love it. To me, there's just something so fun about dissing over priced dresses and bad hair on beautiful people. Come on! You know that's a good time. This year, one of my goals is to get back into the grove of hosting. I just love having a house full of friends. My love language is quality time - so I feel the most fulfilled when I'm with people I hold dear. Of course, the down side to this is that I just adore A TON of people. I've honestly never lived in a place with so many fantastic women. It's amazing! At any rate (back on topic) my first girls night of the year was a Golden Globe Viewing party. The GG's are my favorite awards show because everyone is sitting in tables and the atmosphere is more of a party and more relaxed. I can not even begin to explain the joy that this little sweetie (in pink) brings into my home. She's beautiful, playful, loving, decisive , and stubborn. She likes to be in control but also the life of the party. She also has the best giggle! I swear, I could listen to her tell stories and giggle all day long. Alas, I only get her one day a week (two if I beg) and during preschool carpool. She not only lights up my world - but the two little Lightening McQueen obsessed fans pictured above. They've become bored with my Loving Family Doll House, the kitchen play set, and the Polly Pockets. We're massively overdue for new girl toys, so I added Strawberry Shortcake to our collection. She was a hit! I made sure I bought the little buggie for Drake to play with and the other two were quite content with the food, puppy, and dolls. Even my older boys had to check it out. {{ Shhh . Don't tell.}} I've always known life's a little sweeter with cake. {{wink}}

These days I spend so much time on the computer for work, that it takes extra effort to find the motivation to stay on it to update my personal blog. I have felt the need to post about my 1 year anniversary from back surgery for quite a while - but haven't been in the right place emotionally do it. You see, I don't look back - I blaze forward. In life I take the hits, try to process what happened, quickly pick myself up, and if necessary change course. I'm not sentimental, I don't keep memento's, and I let go of things and people who bring me down. Typically, I don't look back. I think the reason is because it's flat out too hard to do so. My siser has been doing a lot of testing, cleanses, and cranial therapy the last year to try to heal her body so she can get pregnant. At one of her visits the assistant suggested that she call this Psychic to find out what's wrong with her "plumbing". Lisa finally decided to call and got an impressive reading. My biggest fear lately is "what's next"? Since last year was 12 months of one huge trial after another, I've become a bit worrisome for the future. I mean really, how much bad juju can one girl take! Yes, in case you're wondering - I'm still couponing. Last week I spent $81.17 and saved $100.86. This week I spent $67.88 and saved $74.04. I'm using the Grocery Game and binder method. It's been really nice to have a stockpile of food in our pantry. I've also started building up our 3 month food storage. As we used most of it last year to keep our expenses low so we could pay off medical bills. I only buy things that I know we'll eat. Otherwise it's just a waste of money. Couponing is a lot of work but I can't tell you how good it feels to have an excess of food and supplies again. {{whew}}
