Dining Room

It's project time! I've been way to wet this summer between the pool, beach, and the lake. I'm ready to dehydrate!



It's my turn to host Mavens and Book club this month and I couldn't be more excited. I've been wanting to paint my dining room for some time now and even paid a professional to help me pick the colors. Now, I have an excuse to get busy.

These are times that you have to "go with your gut". The color she picked for the top was just a little to "yellow" for me - so I went a couple shades darker.


Before - Summer Suede


After! Top - Restrained Gold, Bottom - Mannered Gold

I absolutely love it. I'll be honest, when I was painting I wasn't so sure. It was a little bright for me, but now that it's done, I feel like it was always meant to be those colors. It brings in a warmth that was needing.

I love it. Love the colors. Mine is a light greenish color on top and white on the bottom. I saw those colors in the Pottery Barn mag years ago and had to do it. Now I'm loving your colors. I might just have to use those, I need a change. It's been 6 or 7 years.

I LOOOOOVVVVVEEE IT!!!!! That yellow is my favorite and your furniture and accessories pop out more. I love the warmth of it and it looks really really great! i love it!

It looks great! Good job!
Our dining room is painted a deep red. My husband wanted to do it and I fought him on it for a while, but then gave in. I'm glad I did, I really like it now.

My favorite picture is the first one with you looking so GIDDY!! You're the only person I know that gets high not on paint fumes, but actually painting. Silly. It looks amazing though!! My dining room is next.

Love the new look! And love your arrangements on the wall too. I'm ready to repaint my dining room too. Right now it is deep burgandy on the bottom, and a light grey on top. Painting the bathroom first - it's amazing what a paint job will do to make everything look fresh and new!

I love it too! We need to paint some walls in our house too, but the ceilings are so high. *sigh* I can just live vicariously through you, yours looks great! Oh, and you do have pretty teeth!:)

Craft Closet Make Over

I've finally done it. After 2 years of living in this house, I've finally finished organizing the last closet in my home. This is the guest room closet that doubles as my "craft" closet. You could barely consider it a walk-in closet, but with 2 new shelves my man built for me over the weekend, it's got just enough space for what I need. Closet Before Closet Before - complete chaos ! After - view from hall (I used a different camera because mine is still broken. It was so hard to get these pics the space is so small. I hope you can get the idea.) Small shelf with hanging space for guests clothes - just above the door that goes to the attic. I spray painted 2 of these tins pink and glued flowers onto the other 3. Top Shelf Middle, 2 new shelves that Jason made and I painted white. I added these "curtains" to cover the other white bins and to make the space less messy. 1 Year Blogiversary

I can't believe it, as of Tuesday, I have been blogging for one year! On the outside not much has changed: I have 3 boys, live in the same house, my man has the same job, and I still go to Mavens, book club, and dinner club with the same fab friends.
