Besties, Babies, and Bloggers - Oh My!

Image
Last week I had the craziest weekend. Kristy (not pictured), Tricia, Lisa, Wendy, and I treated ourselves to a long awaited girls weekend. We ate at the yummiest Cuban restaurant then took our desserts to go and spent the night at a Hotel in Dallas. We stayed up late giggling, chatting, and just enjoying the time together. (With out our little shadows.) The next morning the girls headed over to Canton to shop and I slept in. (Since I absentmindedly triple-booked my weekend.) Back Story: The restaurant we went to had the most amazing cupcakes and cakes in the window as you walk in. So I was stoked about the dessert and couldn't wait to have a cupcake. Well... when it came time to order - it turns out they don't sell cupcakes. Can you say deceptive advertising. Anywho, Kristy being the most thoughtful person on the planet, felt like I deserved my cupcake and brought me one Monday morning! I'm not kidding. Can you believe that!?! It seriously made my day! Saturday a...

My Home for Halloween

Image
We're having a Virtual Tour of Homes over on Tip Junkie and showing off our fall decor. Its fall and time to get the house ready for the new season! This is my front porch. On the first day of October we filled up our Halloween Countdown Calendar with candy and started getting excited for my favorite holiday. My son had an Indiana Jones birthday last year, so my Halloween decorations are more creepy this year as I've used many of his party decor. Front door - inside You can't tell in this picture, but I taped several plastic spiders on the decor to make it more creepy for Halloween. My boys LOVE these large spiders crawling down the iron banister. The boys and I made these beaded pumpkins together one year and we relive the moment every time we tape them up. Nook in study My darling blogging friend Mique made me this BOO banner and I remember her every time I hang it up. I just LOVE my iron pumpkins. That's it, I hope you enjoyed a little tour of my home. I just l...

Sedation? Me too Please.

Image
It's been a rough week as a mommy. Davis has not been cooperative while at the dentist. His permanent molars grew in with out enamel on them and at this point they are simply flaking away. It's time for drastic measures and for mommy to deal with reality. We have seen two different dentists and I've called around and even talked to an expert who has over 1000 high functioning autistic children in his practice. He said that IV sedation for dental work is a must. Reluctantly, I parted with an unimaginable amount of money and now it is done. Davis has all of his dental work completed. Dear Davis, When I was a little girl, I had no idea that when I experienced pain, so did my parents. I didn't realize that it was difficult for them to watch me struggle, fall, and have to pick myself back up again. My parents made it all look so easy and just part of the job. I want you to know that the reason parents don't show their real emotion is not to deceive you but to g...

Family Night

Image
Huge thanks to Gramma Betty & Grandpa Gary for the Disney Monopoly game. They boys absolutely love it and we play it at least once a week. It's helping the boys with their counting skills, money counting, and creating bonding moments with the family. It's Dylan's favorite game right now. The boys have recently become obsessed with dressing up again. Davis also made this huge airplane out of tinker toys. Geeze he's got talent!

Surrounded by Beauty & Love

Image
My love language is quality time so being around the people I adore who constantly inspire me and make me want to be a better mother and person; is truly heaven on earth. For my birthday Wendy threw me a luncheon at my favorite Mexican restaurant. I was surrounded by beauty and love. The best thing about birthdays is how important and special everyone makes you feel. The past year has been a DOOZY and to finally be able to put all the crappy things that happened into the past and move forward with a new outlook on life, a renewed appreciate for life, and a zest for life is really refreshing. (Last year was my 13th year of marriage and I was 33 years old. I'm not superstitious but geeze it was a terrible year!! Now I've been married 14 years and I'm 34 so I'm hoping all that bad juju will dissipate and I can enjoy life a little more.) These are the women who watched my kids, who made me meals, who checked in on me often, and who continue to be there day in and day ou...

Daddy's Home - Time to Par-Tay!

Image
After a couple weeks of Jason being in Russia, the day he got home it was party time! {{no time for jet lag}} The one thing Dylan wanted to do for his birthday was to go laser tagging. So we met up with one of our favorite families for some rock climbing and then headed over to Main Event for laser tag. Dylan killed it! Only because Davis got a little scared at the beginning and refused to face his fears and go all the way up to the top. As soon as this happened Dylan's competitive nature kicked in and he was all of a sudden a monkey climbing everything he could. Drake was in heaven and felt like he could do what ever the big boys were doing. Good times. Huge thanks to this little guy for his loving example and encouraging Drake to go for it. Megan (my dear friend) told Davis that she'd give him a dollar if he made it to the top. It worked! That was the incentive he needed to face his fears and get to the top. After that, he was a ace. Here I am with all the spider m...

Dylan - King for a Day

Image
Happy Birthday Dylan!! Dylan is now officially 9 years old! I could't be more proud of this little guy. He has worked hard and has earned his Wolf in Cub Scouts, is an excellent soccer player, and has developed a love for reading. This year we've decided not to host a friend birthday party. The boys and I are seriously bummed about it. However, it was my decision and just another way we are cutting back and focusing on the family. Therefore, this year we'll be doing "King for a Day!" instead of the traditional friend party. I made Dylan a crown pancake for breakfast. (his favorite) We brought cupcakes for his class and Chick-fil-a for lunch (his favorite). These three little darlings helped me celebrate Dylan's big day and made it more of a party. When Dylan came home from school he had to rush off to Scouts where I supplied more cupcakes to celebrate his big day. He came home to our own little celebration. Jason was in Russia and Dylan didn't want to...
