It's My Blog and I'll Say What I Want To

Image
Do you ever get to the point where you have so much to say, that you can't say anything at all? The past several months my head has been spinning with ideas, blog posts, things to share, feelings, upsets, and drama. But what do I do with it? Nothing. Why? Chalk it up to fatigue, time, interest, lack of eloquence, attention span, it could even be all of these things. Somewhere along the road I've lost my voice, my right-fighting (the good kind not the destructive type), my passion, and fight to be heard. I've become... Complaisant. Alas, it is true and as you can tell I have lost my voice on my personal blog. The difference is, that I know exactly the reason this has happened. I can no longer tell my story the way I want to. I know you hard-core-long-time-bloggers are disagreeing with me and you can leave your comments and tell me how you deal with it. But now that everyone I know reads my blog, it's no longer fun. Lisa (my sister) and I talk about this all the time, the...

The Eagles Score!

Soccer season is now officially over. Dylan played great defence this season. This week our coach told us that the coach of the other team was complaining to him that they couldn't get the ball passed Dylan. Who knew that our sweetest little guy would have the most determination out of the field. We are really proud of him! The end of the season party was so much fun! What's so funny is that 4 families on our coed team have all boys! Out of the 4 families we all have three boys and we're all officially done. It feels good at times not to be alone in this crazy all-boy world.

Mother's Day

Image
Happy Mother's Day everyone! I hope your men spoiled you with your favorite breakfast, your kiddos made you something super cheesy , and you got to take a nap. That's pretty much how my Mother's Day was. Jason made my all time favorite food, waffles with fresh strawberries and cool whip. I ate 2! The kiddos made me cards and wrapped up my favorite candy. Jason also finished up a 6 month project that he's been working on for Tip Junkie. That was my Mother's Day wish and the best present he could have given me. Thanks honey! Dylan came home from school with "My Marvelous Mom" worksheet. He was seriously so proud of it, I couldn't help but really appreciate how thoughtful he tried to be. 1. If my mom were a flower, she would be a Sunflower because she's sunny and bright . 2. If my mom were a song, she woul d be You Are My Sunshine because I love her . 3. If my mom were a super hero, she would be Mighty Mom because she helps me a lot . 4. If my mo...

Quality Time

I got home Friday afternoon and after after sitting for almost 5 hours, my poor body ached and needed activity. After doing a little weeding in the yard the kids came home and we grabbed Wendy's kids and headed on over to the spray park. It was packed! We obviously weren't the only ones who had that idea. ;) The kids had such a great time and loved getting wet while enjoying the hot weather. Jason and I sat back and watched all the fun in front of us. Geeze , it's great to be a kid. A while ago I reinstated movie night with the boys. They love the suggle time, popcorn, and picking out the movie.

National Moms Night Out

Image
I'm way over due for a ROAD TRIP!! Yep, that's right, I'm one of those crazy people that love to be on the open road with great music and adventure looming in the immediate future. Thursday I headed on over to Tulsa, Oklahoma and participated in the National Mom's Night Out with some of my favorite bloggers, OK style. Melanie, Shannon, and several others hosted the event. I've been wanting to meet Melanie from Blogging Basics 101 for quite a while now. We've become great blog friends and we will also be doing a new project together headed up by Alli Worthington this year. For those and many other reasons, I jumped at the chance to spend 24 hours "me" time and go meet Melanie, Shannon, and the gang. I also got a chance to meet Shannon from Rocks in my Dryer. {{squeal in delight}} Melanie & Shannon were amazing hosts and handled all the attention and eager fans so graciously. They made me feel right at ease and welcome. I was delighted to see Chri...

Twitter Girls Night Out - #GNO

Image
Last night I participated in a virtual girls night out on Twitter! Basically, you head over to Mom It Forward and leave your Twitter Address so people can follow you. Next, head on over to Tweet Grind and participate in the fun. I haven't participated in a chat room, but I've heard it explained that it's very similar. The person in charge will ask questions to get the converstations going and then you simply compliment, reply, and send links to tutorials to other women. {{fabulous}} This is what Tweet Grind looks like. As new tweets come in, it adds in little boxes of converstations. I'll be honest, it took me a little bit to get used to. I'm not acustomed to so much information hitting me all at once, but it was a BLAST and I quickly felt like one of the gang. The topic last night was crafting so as you can imagine, I was all over it! It made me realize that I need to plan one afternoon a week to finishing up my current favorite project. Anyone want to ...
