A Fabulously Flawed Life

We had a BLAST!!! These ladies are amazing! I would hang out with any of these ladies in real life, any time. They're fun, gorgeous, engaging, and most importantly real. I obviously felt like I already knew them, but I was even more excited when our connection in real life was instant and comfortable. We didn't have any problems filling the conversation . We laughed, talked seriously, got to know each other better, were LOUD, and 2 hours later when the lunch was over - I realized I hadn't even asked any of the questions I had planned. At one point in the conversation someone asked me if I regretted posting about Heather being my Blog Crush ? I knew immediately the answer was No. I never even imagined that I would have had the opportunity to meet her, and because I took a risk by putt...

Mom life is a bit hectic right now. My oldest is full force into adolescence which comes with many new experiences. I've been reading like a maniac (while in the carpool line and random places when I have a couple minutes) and trying to get a grasp on this new life. Since Davis started Intermediate school, I have felt a huge disconnect in our relationship. Things have been stressful at home. Therefore, I decided to volunteer on Tuesdays in Davis' classroom during the Science lab and then we go to lunch together. I love being there on Tuesdays. It's a GT class (gifted and talented) so they do the coolest labs! It's been really fun to see Davis present his project that he's made with his team. Davis pretty much ignores me during class and lets me get my work done. (I kindly return the favor.) We usually get to leave first and walk hand in hand to the cafeteria. During that time I listen to all kinds of chatter as he tells me everything and anything that's ...

Last week we had parent lunch and early dismissal with the boys. Since Jason was home working on designing my new Tip Junkie Mom- prenuer Shop-a- thon , he was able to come to lunch too. (The new Shop-a- thon isn't completed yet. Stay tuned.) We had a good time together. Thanks to the sucker I brought even Drake was well behaved. Although since Jason went on the 4 th grade Sky Ranch trip, he knew more parents than I did. Geeze .

I cannot believe I am just now posting this. {{shame on me!}} We celebrated my dear friend Julie's 40 th birthday party last month. Julie ROCKS . Julie is straight up one of the most fabulous people I know. Girlfriend IS the entire package: she's an amazing mother, loving wife, caring friend, volunteers at school, focuses on her family, and is a party animal. Julie has the best laugh! She's goofy and adorable at the same time. Even though she's drop dead gorgeous - you don't feel intimidated by her beauty or be- littled by her grace or her talents. She has the uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel loved and accepted. It's truly remarkable. I love being around Julie as her positivity and laugh is contagious. We all gathered for lunch to shower her with gifts, praise, and help her celebrate her big day. It was a wonderful lunch! I'm still trying to figure out my new camera. Thanks to the pig flu splash day was rescheduled. The school district did a great job in freaking my kids out by cancelling everything. Now that the epidemic has been diverted, the life of an 8 year old can go on with water games also known as Splash Day. I think the kids had a little bit of fun. I'm not quite sure though. {{reeking with sarcasm}} Having kiddos 2 years apart, it's always double duty and after giving Dylan his due attention, Drake and I headed on over to Davis' classroom for lunch. Drake was more concerned about stealing Davis' Doritos than anything else. One of his favorite people is in Davis' class and I finally got him to go over into the circle of girls and have lunch with her. {{evil laugh}} With a bag full of cheesy goodness and 8 girls giggling and playing with him; I was able to have a nice lunch and conversation with Davis. Life has been so crazy busy that I haven't been able to blog about it. So here's a recap of what I've been up to the lately. Before Picture Last week Lisa and I painted this desk blue to go into Davis' room. Before Picture With the holidays and birthdays now behind me, I finally repainted the mirrors and small table that I purchased at a garage sale last fall. It's about time, geez . They went in my guest room. Last Satuday , After I did my pantry makeover the boys decided they wanted to start taking their lunch to school. What?!? I don't have room for school lunch stuff in my pantry. That always happens to me, once I get a good system down, things change and spoil my plans. Thankfully, here comes Jason to the rescue and he added more shelves to my master closet to accomodate the school lunch stuff I have to hide so it won't get eaten, as well as some food storage items I want to keep handy.
